Scouters' Tips

The Canadian Path Scouter Manual

The Canadian Path Scouter Manual has arrived! This is your first-stop reference for the Canadian Path program, with content pertaining to all Sections, from Beaver Scouts to Rover Scouts.

Thank you to the Scouters across Canada who took the time to read the posted draft and provide valuable feedback. Some changes have been made, and this version represents the most up-to-date information available to support your Section on The Canadian Path.

This online document has the same great look and content that will be found in the printed Scouter Manual that will be shipped in the Canadian Path Starter Kits later this summer, and which will be appearing on Scout Shop shelves for the new Scouting Year.

Have a look, and we’ll see you on The Path!

Download the Brand New Scouter Manual App!

The Canadian Path team is excited to offer the new Scouter Manual App! This app takes all of the content from the Scouter Manual and optimizes it for Scouters to explore on their iPads or Android tablets. The app includes embedded videos and direct links to all the resources referenced in the print version. The navigation allows Scouters to quickly find what they’re looking for.

Purchase the app from the iTunes App Store or Google Play for $3.99.

The Scouter Manual App is currently only available for iOS on iPads and Android tablets.

The Role of the Scouter

Canadian Path Fundamentals Training

Throughout this past year the Canadian Path team has launched a number of videos and resources aimed at helping Scouters and youth understand what the Canadian Path means to them and their Section. These resources have now been rolled into a brand new training course called Canadian Path Fundamentals. This course summarizes everything we’ve learned about the Canadian Path in the past year in one convenient place!

This course is supplemental for all existing Scouters, meaning that it’s up to you whether you’d like to take it, but will be added to the existing Wood Badge Part 1 courses so that new Scouters are up to date on what we covered last year.

You can find it in either English or French in the David Huestis Learning Centre course catalogue. Just search for “Canadian Path”!
